Ted Phaeton is an Anchor/Meteorologist at Fox Carolina. He Co-Anchors the morning newscast Monday through Friday. (Meaning, he wakes up VERY early!)

A Member of NABJ (National Association of Black Journalists), Ted is also a member of the National Weather Association and received his NWA Television/Radio Seal of Approval in December of 2016, making him a certified meteorologist with the national organization. When he’s not dancing and having fun on commercial breaks, Ted likes to stay active by focusing on his fitness and other outdoor activities. Professionally, as a News Anchor, Ted is tasked with sharing relevant and important information to the community that can help them safely enjoy each day. Whether it’s detours on the roads, threatening weather or changes within the school system or local government. The team is there to keep the community informed.

Phaeton is also lucky enough to interact with viewers and children across the viewing area. Ted’s spoken to the students at Greer High School for Black History Month in the past as well as been blessed to share his story at multiple church services throughout the years. It’s a humbling and fulfilling way to give back and try to inspire future generations. It’s always important to share the things we know. Ted has done countless classroom appearances to teach kids about the weather and how to stay safe if severe storms hit the Upstate. Knowledge is power and it’s always fun seeing the look on the kids’ faces when you make a cloud appear inside of a water bottle.

The Station is huge on community service and giving back. Throughout the years Fox Carolina has shown the generosity of the upstate by collecting donations for hurricane victims, collecting winter coats to keep the less fortunate warm during the winter months, helping with the Salvation Army Angle Tree Program and much more. Ted’s lucky enough to not only be a part of all of that but to also see the community’s generosity first hand.
